We offer 3 career path programs at the SFW Technical School, which are below:

  • Project Management
  • Product Management
  • Content creation/social media management (speciality in LinkedIn content).

Only the workshops are live four times in 6 weeks at 3-5 pm (WAT) OR 11 am-1 pm for product management.

See the dates of the live workshops in the image for the current batch and the next.

What Is The Program Daily Course Schedule?

Use the button below to view  a sample of the schedule for the WFS June batch

I Lack Clarity On Where To Start Or Which Program To Start With At Your Academy; What Is Your Advice?

The WFS is what we advise. The first module helps you achieve CLARITY and know which skills to acquire and which career path to choose. You need them, especially when you lack clarity or do not know the key skills ( soft, digital, tech, life, hard ), software, and tools the 21st-century digitalized workforce demands.

It does not matter what field you are in; you need our one-of-a-kind WFS program, which is the foundation (especially for anyone looking to work remotely (now or later) and globally).

Why Should I Listen To Your Recommendation?

There are many skill-acquisition schools, both online and offline. But they only teach the technical skills, not the soft skills, you need to get the job or succeed on the job.

That is why the Workplace Foundational Skills Program is different.

You not only learn the Workplace Foundational Skills, but you also get the digital, tech and life skills that every global employer desires.

WE HAVE NOT SEEN ANY ACADEMY THAT HAS THE DETAILED CURRICULUM WE HAVE IN OUR SOFT SKILLS (WFS) PROGRAM

Why are These Soft Skills So Important?

Take a good look at the statistics below. You can also Google it.

92% of employers say soft skills matter as much or EVEN MORE than hard/technical skills

Can I Take The WFS And Any Hard Skills Of Choice?

Yes, you can. We recommend it and call it the Global Career Path (GCP) FLEX or PRO models.

I see Aside Programs, you have models. What does this mean?

Look at the statistics below. They are from Havard Statistics. What this means is that soft skills and hard/technical skills are needed for your career success.

Hence, we have designed OUR PROGRAMS into MODELS that have

SOFT SKILLS

HARD SKILLS

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE ACQUISITION

The GCP PRO model is Soft Skills + Hard/Technical Skills + 8-week Internship (unpaid, virtual, and sometimes hybrid, depending on partner need).

The GCP FLEX model is a Soft Skills program (WFS) plus one Hard Skill WITHOUT an internship. – Starters favourite

What Is The Duration Of The Programs?

WFS – 6 weeks

ONE HARD SKILL – 6 weeks

INTERNSHIP – 8 weeks

GCP FLEX – 12 WEEKS (6 Weeks of WFS and 6 weeks of hard skill of choice)

GCP PRO – 20 WEEKS (6 Weeks of WFS + 6 weeks of hard skill of choice + 8 weeks internship)

After Enrolling And Completing The WFS (soft skills program), Can I Use It To Get A Job? A Remote Job? What Are The Possible Jobs

Yes, you can. See below some of the roles our past students have gotten jobs in. You can also render some of what you learn, such as CV writing, as a service, in addition to the below-listed roles you can do as a professional or freelancer.

  • Executive Assitant
  • Virtual Assistant
  • Customer service representative
  • Online educator
  • Course assessor
  • Program Coordinator
  • Community management

Are The Programs Online Or Offline?

WFS, HARD SKILL ALONE, GCP FLEX OR PRO are all online programs.

Can I Take Programs Online And From Anywhere ?

You can register for the fully online programs from anywhere in the world. So far, you can access an internet-enabled device such as a phone, laptop, or tablet to watch the lessons.

Do You Have An Onsite Program?

We have 2 programs that are either FULLY ONSITE (for an entire 6 months) or PARTIALLY ONSITE (for 1 month during job shadowing)

Our Immersion Digital Enterprise Onsite Program (IDEP) is entirely ONSITE and offers 4-5 different In-Demand Work Tracks and MORE as one six-month program.

It is ideal for a woman or man with a career break and can spare 6 months in immersive learning to get beyond skills and also get strategies in running an Edtech.

Our Transition Workers Hybrid Program (TWHP) is 4-5 months of online learning with 3-4 weeks of on-site job shadowing. It offers 2 different In-Demand Work Tracks and MORE as one program.

It is ideal for a professional who wants to learn online and then experience and practice his or her learning in our workspace.

What Are The Enrollment Criteria For the Skilled For Work Academy Programs?

You need a smartphone, data to commence learning and a laptop when you want to start using the knowledge to do work. You must also be literate. You may have yet to go to university, but you can read and write English, our definition of literate.

Do I Need A Fixed Daily Online Commitment?

For the video lessons, there is no fixed daily time to learn. We, however, recommend that you have at least 1 hour to watch your lessons daily. The time you choose is dependent on you. We also offer a schedule guiding you on the lessons to watch daily, but you can choose to combine all your video lessons until the weekend of the week. You can learn at your own pace and time.

For questions, answers, and group workshops, live sessions are held 2-4 times per program. The fixed time is displayed on the program sales page and communicated to you before and after enrolling.

Why Choose Our Employability Academy?

  • DO AS I DO PROGRAMS: All trainings are hands-on—enough of theory. You already did that in school and still lack employability skills. Should we have a social media project requiring images, we give it to you. We teach you the design software needed to execute the task. No pilling up of learning till exam time.
  • GLOBAL OPPORTUNITIES: Given my experience working globally and remotely twice, one of which was as a global program coordinator at the Museum for the United Nations, and my several years of teaching 300+ professionals from 10+ countries how to secure opportunities such as jobs, no one is better to teach you about getting employed globally than me, Dr. Aderinsola Adio-Adepoju. In some tracks of this program, we teach you how to search for global jobs.
  • FACILITATORS ARE PROFESSIONALS: Skilled For Work is not a theory-focused school. You learn directly from professionals or founders who have done it/are doing it, and you also carry out projects while on the program.
  • WORK PLACEMENT: At the end of the program, you have a job placement internship with our partner hubs to try out what you have learned. This applies to the PRO and Immersion models.
  • OUR CURRICULUM: We continuously review our curriculum to stay ahead of trends and what is obtainable in the market. One of the known problems of the conventional tertiary institution is an outdated curriculum, and we are NOT going that route.

  • CERTIFICATION: At the end of the program, you will be issued a certificate stating you are experienced and have worked in a real-life work environment. This helps a potential employer believe in you and increases your chances over others in the job market.

  • LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION TO EMPLOYERS: If you take the GCP PRO model, which includes an internship, our partners with whom you interned will give you a recommendation letter. You can present this to employers.

  • ALUMNI JOB OPPORTUNITIES COMMUNITY: At the end of the program, we add you as a BONUS to our alumni community, where various global opportunities are shared and networking occurs.

WHAT IS THE LEARNING PROCESS AT THE SKILLED FOR WORK ACADEMY?

It is beyond a course; it is a comprehensive program. How you learn plays a significant role in how quickly you absorb the knowledge, how quickly you can implement it, and how quickly you get that desired job.

Here is our six-step approach at the SFW.

1) COURSE WORK

The online school’s lessons are taken in modules. Each lesson is 5-20 minutes long. Each course has 5-10 modules, with an average of 5 classes per module. Yes, we like to keep it simple.

2) PROJECTS

Projects/assignments are taken after each module. Depending on what you learned in the lesson, we give you a short practical project to practice with.

3) QUIZ

Quizzes will be taken at intervals during the modules to ensure you understand what you are learning. No, we don’t want that exam kind of mindset here; after all, we are more concerned about your ability to use the skills on the job, not a paper saying you can do it.

4) SUPPORT COMMUNITY

You will be in a support community with other learners and an advisor who will support and answer your questions.

5) LIVE SESSIONS

Live group interactive learning sessions. We will hold at least 2 live workshops per program where you can go into breakout rooms to work collaboratively with other group members. This will foster an agile work culture where you need to work remotely. You will have 1-8 (depending on your model) Zoom workshops before the end of the coursework, where you work with teams or in groups on projects.

6) PEER GROUP ACCOUNTABILITY

No one must be left behind. We understand we move at different paces. In week 2 or 3 of your program, we break you down into smaller groups, where you have smaller group meetings and learning time with your accountability group members. This fosters peer-to-peer learning.

7)  ALUMNI JOB BOARD COMMUNITY

We have an alumni community with a community manager and activities that provide you with BONUS support, job opportunities, alumni interactions, and networking. Note that it is independent of the program.

It is a bonus for all alumni

8) INTERNSHIP

Depending on the model you sign up for (PRO and IMMERSION), you will be assigned to a partner organisation to intern.

What Is The Curriculum For Workplace Foundational Skills (WFS) Program?

The WFS is a must-have 6 weeks program that has 70 plus lessons in 7 models with 17 quiz, 2 live projects and 1 individual project.

  • UNDERSTANDING WHO YOU ARE AND CHOOSING THE RIGHT CAREER PATH FOR THE GLOBAL WORKFORCE (THE CLARITY MODULE)
  • TECH TOOLS, SOFTWARE, AND APPS FOR ALL WORKPLACES (GOOGLE TOOLS/DIGITAL SKILLS MODULE).
  • TECH TOOLS, SOFTWARE, AND APPS FOR ALL WORKPLACES (SOFTWARE MODULE).
  • THE FOUNDATIONAL SOFT SKILLS NEEDED TO WORK IN ALL PROFESSIONS GLOBALLY. (COMMUNICATION MODULE)
  • DEVELOPING PLANNING AND ORGANIZATIONAL PROCESSES FOR PERSONAL AND WORK TASKS (THE STRUCTURE MODULES)
  • SELLING YOURSELF TO THE GLOBAL MARKET THROUGH PROFESSIONAL ASSETS (SELLING MODULE)
  • THE MODEL WORKER ATTRIBUTE AND TRAITS – (LIFE SKILLS MODULE)

What If I Want To Take The Hard Skill Alone? i.e. I Want To Take The Project Management Course Alone. Will I Get A Remote Job Once I Finish?

The formula for employability in today’s market is

  • 5% educational degree,
  • 30% soft skills (what we covered in the workplace foundational skills program)
  • 30 % hard/technical skills (e.g., product management, project management content creation, etc, which we offer in our technical school)
  • 35% experience (work, internship or volunteering).

Hard/technical skills without foundational workplace skills are why many employers will not offer most people jobs despite having the title “Project Manager,” “Digital Marketer,”” Content Creator,” etc.

No one wants to hire a person with hard skills and NO WORKPLACE FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS. Trust me on this one. I, Aderinsola Adio-Adepoju (PhD), lead instructor at the SFW academy, have worked INTERNATIONALLY REMOTELY TWICE! Plus, I have been an EMPLOYER OF LABOUR for 13 years! I recommend that you take the WFS soft skills program before the hard skills program. That can increase your chances of landing that job.

Do I Get A Certificate After The Program?

Every model receives a certificate of participation.

For models with internships, you also receive a reference letter highlighting your work experience. This letter says you interned with us or our partner hubs, which may be presented as work experience.

What Platforms Are Used For The Learning?

4 major platforms, and they are all free to use. They are cloud-based platforms.

1) Our learning management system,—This is where our online course with the video lessons you will watch is hosted. The learning is already recorded, so you do not have to worry about missing classes.

2) Google Classroom – This is where you will submit an assignment

3) Telegram and WhatsApp—We use these to make announcements and offer support. Students also interact here.

4) Zoom/YouTube – This is where we host live workshops
