A GLOBAL EMPLOYABILITY ACADEMY
Skilled For Work is a finishing school for literate youths and women starting their careers or transitioning and hoping to gain 21st-century, in-demand workplace skills to become globally employable.
7 Categories Of People Attend Skilled For Work Academy Programs
The Workplace Foundational Skills (WFS) is a soft skill program that is a MUST-HAVE for everyone ( Entrepreneur, Professional, Freelancer, Academic). This is the one program in this school that covers the clarity, soft, digital, life, and tech skills you need to support your work in any field. Anyone who wants to work remotely needs this program, whether they have work experience or not.
Registration is ongoing for our MUST-HAVE signature program, the WORKPLACE FOUNDATIONAL SKILLS (WFS) PROGRAM. Registration Closes (BATCH 5) on the 28th of September 2024. Classes Resume 1st October 2024
We offer 3 career path programs at the SFW Technical School, which are below:
How Does WFS or Technical School Programs Work?
Lessons are pre-recorded videos that you can watch at any time of the day.
With 1 hour daily, you will be able to learn and implement.
Only the workshops are live four times in 6 weeks at 3-5 pm (WAT) OR 11 am-1 pm for product management.
See the dates of the live workshops in the image for the current batch and the next.
Use the button below to view a sample of the schedule for the WFS June batch
The WFS is what we advise. The first module helps you achieve CLARITY and know which skills to acquire and which career path to choose. You need them, especially when you lack clarity or do not know the key skills ( soft, digital, tech, life, hard ), software, and tools the 21st-century digitalized workforce demands.
It does not matter what field you are in; you need our one-of-a-kind WFS program, which is the foundation (especially for anyone looking to work remotely (now or later) and globally).
There are many skill-acquisition schools, both online and offline. But they only teach the technical skills, not the soft skills, you need to get the job or succeed on the job.
That is why the Workplace Foundational Skills Program is different.
You not only learn the Workplace Foundational Skills, but you also get the digital, tech and life skills that every global employer desires.
WE HAVE NOT SEEN ANY ACADEMY THAT HAS THE DETAILED CURRICULUM WE HAVE IN OUR SOFT SKILLS (WFS) PROGRAM
Take a good look at the statistics below. You can also Google it.
92% of employers say soft skills matter as much or EVEN MORE than hard/technical skills
Yes, you can. We recommend it and call it the Global Career Path (GCP) FLEX or PRO models.
Look at the statistics below. They are from Havard Statistics. What this means is that soft skills and hard/technical skills are needed for your career success.
Hence, we have designed OUR PROGRAMS into MODELS that have
SOFT SKILLS
+
HARD SKILLS
+
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE ACQUISITION
The GCP PRO model is Soft Skills + Hard/Technical Skills + 8-week Internship (unpaid, virtual, and sometimes hybrid, depending on partner need).
WFS – 6 weeks
ONE HARD SKILL – 6 weeks
INTERNSHIP – 8 weeks
GCP FLEX – 12 WEEKS (6 Weeks of WFS and 6 weeks of hard skill of choice)
GCP PRO – 20 WEEKS (6 Weeks of WFS + 6 weeks of hard skill of choice + 8 weeks internship)
Yes, you can. See below some of the roles our past students have gotten jobs in. You can also render some of what you learn, such as CV writing, as a service, in addition to the below-listed roles you can do as a professional or freelancer.
WFS, HARD SKILL ALONE, GCP FLEX OR PRO are all online programs.
You can register for the fully online programs from anywhere in the world. So far, you can access an internet-enabled device such as a phone, laptop, or tablet to watch the lessons.
We have 2 programs that are either FULLY ONSITE (for an entire 6 months) or PARTIALLY ONSITE (for 1 month during job shadowing)
Our Immersion Digital Enterprise Onsite Program (IDEP) is entirely ONSITE and offers 4-5 different In-Demand Work Tracks and MORE as one six-month program.
It is ideal for a woman or man with a career break and can spare 6 months in immersive learning to get beyond skills and also get strategies in running an Edtech.
Our Transition Workers Hybrid Program (TWHP) is 4-5 months of online learning with 3-4 weeks of on-site job shadowing. It offers 2 different In-Demand Work Tracks and MORE as one program.
It is ideal for a professional who wants to learn online and then experience and practice his or her learning in our workspace.
You need a smartphone, data to commence learning and a laptop when you want to start using the knowledge to do work. You must also be literate. You may have yet to go to university, but you can read and write English, our definition of literate.
For the video lessons, there is no fixed daily time to learn. We, however, recommend that you have at least 1 hour to watch your lessons daily. The time you choose is dependent on you. We also offer a schedule guiding you on the lessons to watch daily, but you can choose to combine all your video lessons until the weekend of the week. You can learn at your own pace and time.
For questions, answers, and group workshops, live sessions are held 2-4 times per program. The fixed time is displayed on the program sales page and communicated to you before and after enrolling.
It is beyond a course; it is a comprehensive program. How you learn plays a significant role in how quickly you absorb the knowledge, how quickly you can implement it, and how quickly you get that desired job.
Here is our six-step approach at the SFW.
1) COURSE WORK
The online school’s lessons are taken in modules. Each lesson is 5-20 minutes long. Each course has 5-10 modules, with an average of 5 classes per module. Yes, we like to keep it simple.
2) PROJECTS
Projects/assignments are taken after each module. Depending on what you learned in the lesson, we give you a short practical project to practice with.
3) QUIZ
Quizzes will be taken at intervals during the modules to ensure you understand what you are learning. No, we don’t want that exam kind of mindset here; after all, we are more concerned about your ability to use the skills on the job, not a paper saying you can do it.
4) SUPPORT COMMUNITY
You will be in a support community with other learners and an advisor who will support and answer your questions.
5) LIVE SESSIONS
Live group interactive learning sessions. We will hold at least 2 live workshops per program where you can go into breakout rooms to work collaboratively with other group members. This will foster an agile work culture where you need to work remotely. You will have 1-8 (depending on your model) Zoom workshops before the end of the coursework, where you work with teams or in groups on projects.
6) PEER GROUP ACCOUNTABILITY
No one must be left behind. We understand we move at different paces. In week 2 or 3 of your program, we break you down into smaller groups, where you have smaller group meetings and learning time with your accountability group members. This fosters peer-to-peer learning.
7) ALUMNI JOB BOARD COMMUNITY
We have an alumni community with a community manager and activities that provide you with BONUS support, job opportunities, alumni interactions, and networking. Note that it is independent of the program.
It is a bonus for all alumni
8) INTERNSHIP
Depending on the model you sign up for (PRO and IMMERSION), you will be assigned to a partner organisation to intern.
The WFS is a must-have 6 weeks program that has 70 plus lessons in 7 models with 17 quiz, 2 live projects and 1 individual project.
